National Plan of Solid Waste (PLANRES)

 

I. INITIATORS
Cooperative Institutions: InWEnt, CONAM, OPS
Executing Institutions: IPES and Ciudad Saludable

II. OBJETIVES
Elaborate and contribute to the implementation of the National Plan to improve the management of solid waste in Peru.

III. RESULTS
  1. An elaborated, published and distributed document of the National Plan of Solid Waste.
  2. The generation of two reports per semester about monitoring the implementation of the Plan, that give attention to the implementation of the annual operational plan.
IV. ACTIVITIES TO DEVELOP
A series of activities have been planned that guide to the elaboration, publication and distribution of PLANRES:

Activities relating to Result 1: The elaboration , publication and distribution of PLANRES

1. Expert workshop

Objective: Elaborating on PLANRES taking as a base the document generated by the contributing workshop realized in Lima, Chiclayo and Arequipa. Points of attentions are, PLANRES over the long term and the operational plan 2004, that includes actions, implementation strategy and a system of monitoring and evaluation.

2. Validation workshop

Objective: Validate PLANRES with the participation of representatives of organization of the zones where the process was initiated. (Lima, Arequipa and Chiclayo).

3. Publication

Once that PLANRES has been validated, one will proceed to its edition, design and edited to be printed as a national document later on. Tentative date: March 2004.

Later a public presentation of the Plan will be realized, inviting a huge number of representatives of public and private institutions.

The document of PLANRES will be distributed at national level and will be made available for download at the Web pages of CONAM; OPS; IPES and Ciudad Saludable.

Activities relating to Result 2: The generation of two reports per semester about monitoring the implementation of the Plan, that give attention to the implementation of the annual operational plan.

    • In the elaboration workshop of PLANRES indicators of results and objective are identified, that will be used in a monitoring and evaluation system
    • Elaboration of information about the advance of the Plan 4 times a year by the national coordinators of PLANRES
    • Work meetings 4 times a year to evaluate the developed advances.
